please consider coaching in 2025

Please consider coaching! Without enough coaches, we will not be able to offer soccer to all the players who have registered.

High school students, get paired with an adult and get volunteer hours!

FAQ about coaching

is Soccer experience necessary?

Prior soccer playing or coaching experience is definitely not required, as we provide training at the beginning of the season and ongoing support and resources throughout the season. We do ask about soccer and coaching experience to try to keep our coaching teams as balanced as possible.

All we ask is that coaches be friendly, positive, and willing to learn alongside their players.

What about the time commitment?

Maybe you work shift work, or you have a vacation planned, or your frequently travel for business? Maybe you’re such a super busy parents who is already juggling too much but also really wants to see this initiative succeed? Just let us know.

We will do our best to group coaches together in teams of two or three (or even four depending on circumstances!) to allow for flexibility, a lighter workload, and a more collaborative environment. (The distribution of duties will be the responsibility of the coaching team.)

I'm a student. Can I volunteer?

Yes – we’d love to have you as a part of our team.  We would be happy to sign for your required volunteer hours, too!

What's the process?

1. Let us know you’d like to coach by filling out an expression of interest here.
2. We will send you a letter requesting a vulnerable sector check from the Ontario Provincial Police. This is free to complete for volunteers and is done online.
3. You can submit your vulnerable sector check to us via email.
4. Once your check has been approved, we will connect you with the resources, training, tools, and equipment you need to have a great season.
